IPSE Grants

Scholarships for inclusive post secondary education students in Georgia.

IPSE Grants assists students with intellectual disabilities, and enrolled in an approved IPSE program, at an approved University System of Georgia (USG) or Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Eligible Public Institution. IPSE Grant funds can be applied to tuition and program fees, depending on the state’s annual budget.

What are IPSE Grants?

IPSE Grants are a five-year pilot that pays for “standard undergraduate tuition” at public institutions only. The grants may pay for program or student fees, depending on funds available.

Through the signed bill, SB 246, the IPSE Grants funds went into effect July 1, 2023, with the first eligible semester being Fall 2023. The pilot for IPSE Grants ends on July 1, 2028. Learn more about Georgia SB246 here.

  7. Georgia Southern University:

Applying for an IPSE Grant

Students can apply for IPSE Grants by one of two ways:

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA must be completed every year to be eligible for IPSE Grants or federal funds like the Pell Grant. Or
  2. Complete the online Georgia Student Finance Application (GSFAPP). The GSFAPP only needs to be fill out once every ten years in the state of Georgia.


Application Deadline:

A student must file a GSFAPP or FAFSA on or before the last day of the school term or the student withdrawal date whichever occurs first to receive payment for a term.

Note: The end of the school term may be the final day of classes or exams, whichever occurs later.
